Last night I attended emergency department at 3.30 with symptoms of a UTI which I have recurring . Took in urine sample. Walked out at 8.15 still waiting to see a doctor. All that was required was a test on sample to show if it was a UTI. Sad this once really good hospital has gone to pot. I think it depends on the doctor on roster at the time

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 5:30 PM, I encountered a troubling situation with RN Linda. Her demeanour was not just unprofessional; it bordered on abusive as she assisted me to the toilet, expressing overt anger about my need to use the commode. Her sarcastic remark about me being "special" was particularly disheartening. She mentioned she had only been in her position for six weeks, which is concerning given the importance of compassion in healthcare. When I inquired about her qualifications, her response of "That Depends" was both confusing and unprofessional. Her aggressive tone and body language shifted dramatically once she learned I was a nurse myself, which should not have influenced her behaviour. Regardless of my background, she should demonstrate professionalism, kindness, and empathy in her role.
On Friday, August 9th, at 11 AM, I encountered a doctor who displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. His behaviour was not only rude but also abusive, completely disregarding the importance of bedside manner. Upon entering the room, he raised his voice at me for being on the phone, which was related to a mobility aid store that my physiotherapist had arranged. He insisted that I hang up immediately. Furthermore, he callously instructed me to take a cab home from Kilcoy Hospital, even though I had arrived 24hrs previously by ambulance from Caboolture Hospital and live in Upper Caboolture. I explained that my son would be picking me up after work, especially after I had collected the necessary mobility aids to facilitate my return home. The nurse informed me that this doctor goes by the name of Dr. Jake, and he was responsible for my discharge.
The only food I was offered in 24hours was a sandwich.
Have sent a complaint email to Qld health, health ombudsman and head of the hospital.

My ASD 9 year old son had a camping accident where put an axe 2/3 through a toe. I arrived and we were taken straight in for treatment. The Doctor was fantastic and called around to Private hospitals as the injury needed surgery to find a specialist surgeon.
Within the hour they had cleaned the wound, provided pain relief and provided us with all the documents needed.

I was In the hospital for a day, I was shaken awake by one of the nurses, I do have a witness as my fiancee was sitting beside me, I had to ask him what she was asking me as I was still in shock, I also have epilepsy a sudden shock like this causes me to fit, I did!!! She also was shaking the other two elderly women, if the families see this I was in 8 on the 11/3/20. Also the nurses didn't check the information about my medication, only when I told them that I had missed a dose of my anti epilepsy meds did they even check, I had to discharge myself, I don't give anyone permission to put hands on me.
