Incompetence in the extreme. These solicitors were acting for a buyer in a property sale. We had to do an in person settlement and unbelievably the following ensued:
1. The solicitor failed to bring required paperwork on settlement day requiring us to make an extension to the following day. (I was within my right to terminate settlement that day should I have decided to, at much cost to the buyer).
2. Arriving 2 hours late the next day for settlement.
3. Mistakenly the solicitor took the wrong cheque for my land tax settlement and we have spent - not exaggerating - 5 months requesting them to send this back to us. They acknowledged that they had it and it was their fault yet continuously failed to remit the funds.
My solicitor also stated they had never had such difficulties with such a straight forward process as a property settlement.
