The room assigned to me had a weird smell, like urine or musty? The airconditioning was also not turned on when I got in (temperature outside was 37) and it took a while for the room to get cool. I had to use my personal fan to keep myself comfortable. I called reception after 30 mins waiting for the room to get cool(to no avail). They control the airconditioning temperature. It got cooler as it got darker outside. I feel like in this weather they should have anticipated.
Also, they should look at ensuring the room is cleaned properly and that it smells nice. The bathroom vent had dust bunnies and the door to the balcony does not lock, which I think is a safety concern.

Review for Mon Komo Hotel
Overpriced and underwhelming, not the standard I expected”
I stayed at Mon Komo Hotel as an Oaks Hotels member, and sadly the experience did not meet expectations.
The “standard” room we were given felt far from standard. The view was just rooftops and houses—definitely not the ocean view I assumed from the photos. There was also construction noise during the day, making it hard to relax.
The room itself was extremely bare: one bed, one chair, no table or second chair to sit at. Only one coffee cup for two people, just two small coffee sachets, and no bottle opener. The microwave was there, but we had to eat on the bed since there was nowhere else to sit. Even the toilet had a constant, unpleasant odor.
The gym was tiny, and the pool was unheated (around 15 °C). When we arrived just after 11 am to try breakfast in the restaurant, we were told breakfast had finished and only lunch was available—which was disappointing for paying hotel guests.
The one bright spot was the check-in—it was professional and welcoming. But for $350 a night, this was very poor value. Instead of feeling like hotel guests, we honestly felt more like hobos just making do. I wouldn’t stay here again.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment for one night and it was very nice, appeared to have everything you would need for a longer stay too. It would have been nice to have had a chair or something in the bedroom to put suitcases on.
Only issue we had was the shower water pressure, very weak and would have been so much better to have a waterfall style shower head to add to the resort vibe.
Unfortunately - there is building works across the road on Anzac Avenue, which presumably will be for a least a year so be aware if you want to sleep in past 7am weekdays!

Ocean view one bedroom apartment was spacious and has nice view but it is a bit outdated and dust is everywhere.. gotta pay attention at house keeping. Room rate could be cheaper..

Friendly staff upon arrival, the view we had was immaculate- top floor facing the ocean. Minutes to the shops and Woolies as well as restaurants down the road which was walking distance. Doorstep away to the mini lagoon across the street and beach walkways.
